Members of WAAG international visited Pakistan for the international Seerat Conference hosted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs & Inter-faith Harmony.
On Saturday 2 December 2017, a senior delegation of the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates (WAAG) from Cairo, Egypt, representing the Grand Imam Dr Ahmad al-Tayyeb Shaykh al-Azhar, travelled to Pakistan to attend the International Seerat Conference held in Islamabad by Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs & Inter-faith Harmony. The delegation was welcomed by the Federal Minister, Mr Sardar Yusuf, and the Minister of State, Pir Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah from Bhera.
The delegation comprised of Mr Osama Yassin (Vice-Chairman of WAAG), Dr Ibrahim Hudhud (former President of Al-Azhar University) and Mr Wael Muhammad (General Manager of WAAG). The delegation participated in the International Seerat Conference which featured an address by Dr Ibrahim Hudhud, Pir Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah and Mr Mamnoon Hussain (President of Pakistan). The Vice-President of the UK Branch of the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates, Bakhtyar Pirzada al-Azhari, was also in attendance at the conference and met the delegation there.
On Monday 4 December 2017, the delegation travelled to Bhera and visited the Dar-ul-Uloom Muhammadia Ghausia (University) of Bhera, led by Pir Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah and founded by the late al-Azhari scholar of Pakistan, Zia-ul-Ummat Justice Pir Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (ra). Here the delegation was welcomed by the Vice-Principal, Dr Abul Hasan Muhammad Shah al-Azhari, and meetings were held with many graduates of Al-Azhar University currently serving in Pakistan.
