During his official trip to Pakistan, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Shaykh Dr Shawqi ‘Allam, on Wednesday 21 March 2018, travelled to Bhera Sharif from Islamabad to visit the Dar-ul-Uloom Muhammadia Ghausia (University) of Bhera, which was founded by the late al-Azhari scholar, Zia-ul-Ummat Justice Pir Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (1918-1998), who was a student of Al-Azhar from 1951-54 and studied with the illustrious scholars of that era including Imam Muhammad Abu Zahrah, Dr Anees Abada, Dr Mustafa Shilbi and others.
The Grand Mufti was welcomed by the Leader of the DMG Educational Network, custodian of the Amir-us-Salikin Zawiya of Bhera Sharif, and Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony, Pir Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah. Many graduates of Al-Azhar University as well as the Vice-Principal of the DMG University, Dr Abul Hasan Muhammad Shah al-Azhari, all welcomed and hosted the Grand Mufti.
The Grand Mufti held talks with the Al-Azhar graduates as well as with Pir Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah. He also delivered a talk at a seminar of staff and students of the faculty and also paid his respects at the mausoleum and grave of the late al-Azhari scholar, Pir Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari.
