Today is the ‘International Day of Peace’, officially known as World Peace Day by the United Nations. Imams and community leaders in the UK join the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in solidarity and echo the call for peace around the world.
This includes Bakhtyar Pirzada al-Azhari (Vice-President of Al-Azhar Alumni UK & Vice-Principal of Jamia Al-Karam in Retford), Shaykh Muhammad Yazdani Raza Misbahi (Founder of the London Fatwa Council), Imam Qari Muhammad Asim MBE (Chairman of the Mosques and Imams National Advisory Board & Head Imam of the Leeds Makkah Mosque), Shaykh Umar Hayat Qadri (Chairman of Suffah Foundation in Huddersfield), Qari Abu Adam al-Azhari (Head of the Darul Qurran & Islamic Research Centre in Birmingham), and numerous others.
Graduates of Al-Azhar University in the UK, join the campaign ‘Ambassadors of Al-Azhar…. Ambassadors of Peace’.
