Advanced Training for Taraweeh Imams and Qur’an Reciters

A six-day intensive online training programme for Taraweeh Imams & Qur’an Reciters was delivered in February 2025. This initiative was organised by Al-Azhar Alumni UK and the World Organisation for Al-Azhar Graduates – facilitated by Jamia Al-Karam, Retford.

Delivered shortly before the commencing of Ramadan 1446 AH, the programme focused on the following areas:

• Mastering differences in Qur’anic recitations (fundamentals & details)
• Enhancing vocal performance & recitation skills
• Deep reflection on Qur’anic meanings
• Developing a unique recitation style (avoiding imitation)
• Controlling recitation speed & improving vocal strengths
• Preserving vocal endurance throughout Ramadan

Shaykh Professor Mohamed Elwy, Member of the Qur’an Review Committee – Faculty of the Holy Qur’an for Readings and its Sciences in the Tanta branch of Al-Azhar University, Cairo, delivered the online programme.
