Al-Azhar condemns Houthi missile attack targeting holy city of Makkah

Grand Imam stated the Houthi militias missile launch toward the holy city of Mecca, represents a major provocation to the entire Muslim population.

Grand Imam of Dr Ahmed al-Tayeb, condemned the Houthi militias launch of a missile toward Makkah, stating that this attack represents a major provocation to the feelings of more than half a billion Muslims around the world. The Grand Imam called upon all leaders in the Arab and Islamic world to take urgent and decisive action toward the attackers, stressing that the attack exceeded all religious, moral and humanitarian limits.

The Grand Imam of Al Azhar, further warned the attackers, that the world will remember all those responsible for trying to attack the holy city of Makkah, that has effected global peace which the global community is working endlessly to achieve.

The Muslim Council of Elders also condemned the outrageous act that the attackers made against the holy city of Makkah, which has left the Muslim world in shock. Elders of the Muslim Council stressed the attempted attack, targeted the house of God, and the safe hold of Muslims, to achieve their own hateful agenda. The Elders of the Muslim Council called onto world leaders to take a decisive stand against such attacks, and to investigate those behind the attack.
