Al-Azhar Alumni UK, which is the UK Branch of the World Organisation for Al-Azhar Graduates, supports and stands by the university of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt in strong condemnation of the Muslim Brotherhood, particularly its misguided and grossly ignorant recent statement.
On Saturday 23 February 2019, a statement was issued by a website speaking on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood group titled ‘Delayed Consolation and Deserved Retribution’, in which the group has called for a ‘revolution’ that will put an end to ‘oppressors’ and through which ‘you retaliate for the martyrs’.
Through its extremism monitoring agency, the Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Terrorism, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif immediately took notice of this vile statement and issued a thorough refutation and condemnation statement, highlighting the errors and the evils within the Brotherhood statement.
The Observatory made clear that the statement of the Brotherhood openly called on Egyptians to work on spreading chaos across their country. It added that the statement has uncovered the group’s ugly face, which it has always tried to hide to deceive the youth. Through the statement, the Brotherhood has explicitly admitted that it is a group that practices violence and has made clear that its miserable and desperate goal is the destruction of the pillars of the state, and the creation of strife amongst the people.
Commenting on the title of the Brotherhood’s alleged statement, the Observatory said that the group’s unruly desire in seeking revenge and retaliation has nothing to do with the instructions of the religion of Islam, which the group tries in vain to use to serve its malicious purposes.
The Observatory has further questioned as to who is behind this group and supports it with money and weapons that it aims to prepare to shed unjustly and aggressively the blood of the innocent and those defending the security of their countries? It also asserted that the Brotherhood is following in the footsteps of Daesh and other extremist groups, which seek to spread chaos, achieve hidden agendas, and in vain attempt to threaten security and safety. It is important for every individual in society to show love for one’s country by adhering to the laws of the nation and safeguarding its integrity, security and peace.
