President of Al-Azhar Alumni UK, Mr Bakhtyar Pirzada al-Azhari, recently visited the Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy (AIRA) in a visit aimed at fostering understanding and exploring potential avenues for collaboration.
Mr Bakhtyar Pirzada al-Azhari met with Professor Dr Mohammad Abdel Daim al-Jendi, the esteemed Secretary-General of AIRA, and was received by Dr Abdullah Ahmad, Director of the Office of the Secretary-General. The visit included discussions on the Academy’s role in advancing authentic Islamic scholarship and its efforts to address emerging social and doctrinal issues through sound research and wisdom-based guidance.
During the engagement, the Al-Azhar Alumni UK President learned about the Academy’s diverse academic initiatives, including its specialised committees in areas such as Qur’anic studies, jurisprudence, and interfaith dialogue. The Academy’s significant contributions to publishing, translation, and educational initiatives, as well as its custodianship of Egypt’s second-largest library with rare Islamic manuscripts, were highlighted.
Professor Dr Mohammad al-Jendi is a prominent scholar with extensive experience in Islamic studies, philosophy and doctrine. His notable academic contributions have shaped contemporary discussions on faith and culture.
