Al-Azhar Alumni UK Condemns Streatham Terror Attack

Al-Azhar Alumni UK condemns the terrorist attack that took place in Streatham, London, on Sunday in which multiple stabbings took place and the perpetrator, Sudesh Amman, was shot dead by the police. The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that the incident was related to terrorism.

Imams and graduate scholars of Al-Azhar University across the world stand united in their message of condemnation of this act of terror, reiterating that such crimes are against Islam and humanity. Terrorism aims to destabilise nations and communities, and extremists spread fitnah (strife), follow their own personal desires and have no regard for the sanctity of human life, nations and religions.

The message of the Qur’an is clear for those who cause corruption and mischief in the land such that for them there is disgrace in this world and a heavy torment in the hereafter.

At the present moment, our thoughts are with the victims of this terrorist attack and we stand in solidarity with the people of Streatham.
