British Imams Complete Five-Week Ground-Breaking Online Training Programme

An intense five-week online programme organised by the World Organisation for Al-Azhar Graduates (WOAG) and the Al-Azhar International Academy for Training Imams, Preachers, and Fatwa Researchers for British Imams, mosque teachers, and preachers concluded last week.
The closing ceremony was attended by Vice-Chairman of WOAG, Mr Wa’il Mahmud Bakhit, Secretary-General of WOAG, Dr ‘Abd al-Dayim Nusayr and former President of Al-Azhar University and current President of the Al-Azhar International Training Academy, Dr Muhammad Husayn al-Mahrasawi.
Dr Muhammad Husayn al-Mahrasawi reiterated the purpose behind such programmes delivered by the WOAG which is to develop the cultural awareness of the participants, to tackle extremism and for them to spread the correct image of Islam in their respective countries.
Dr ‘Abd al-Dayim Nusayr highlighted the importance of British Imams maintaining dialogue and communication with Al-Azhar Alumni UK – the UK branch of the World Organisation of Al-Azhar Graduates – in order to identify and tackle the relevant challenges faced by British Muslims by holding relevant training programmes facilitated by the WOAG.
The British Imams expressed their happiness and gratitude for the opportunity provided to them by the WOAG and Al-Azhar Alumni UK in gaining access to the leading teachers and lecturers from the prestigious Al-Azhar University and upon a well delivered programme. They were grateful for this programme developing their knowledge, refining their critical thinking skills, and comprehensively answering their questions.
