WAAG UK President attends inauguration of the Zia-ul-Ummah Centre

Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada attended the inauguration of the Zia-Ummah Centre named after renowned Al-Azhari scholar.

On Saturday 30 July 2016, The President of the UK Branch of the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates (WAAG UK), Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, attended and participated in the inauguration of the newly founded Zia-ul-Ummah Centre in Bordesley Green, Birmingham.

The Zia-ul-Ummah Centre is situated at the heart of the city of Birmingham which has a large Muslim community population and is set up to be a Masjid for the local community and Qur’an teaching centre. Significantly, the centre is named after renowned Al-Azhari scholar of the Indian subcontinent, former Justice of the Pakistan Supreme Court and prominent Sufi scholar, Zia-ul-Ummah Justice Shaykh Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari.

The event was chaired by Pakistan’s Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Shaykh Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah (Shaykh & Custodian of the Amir-us-Salikin Khanqah of Bhera Sharif and Principal of the DMG Educational Network). The event was further attended by numerous leading scholars and Imams of the UK as well as representatives from other faith communities. The event was hosted by graduate of Jamia Al-Karam and senior Imam of the Zia-ul-Ummah Centre, Imam Shahid Tameez.

Guests and speakers included WAAG UK Vice-President Bakhtyar Pirzada Al-Azhari, WAAG UK member Imam Hassan Rabbani al-Azhari, WAAGUK member Imam Abu Baqar Ali al-Azhari, Shaykh Fiaz Ul Hasan Qadri (Hazrat Sultan Bahu Trust, Birmingham), Allama Zafar Mahmood Farashwi (Manchester), and many others.
